A little bit of romance a little bit of political controversy makes this novel one you definitely need to pick up.

We cannot stop raving over our favorite funny girl, Mindy Kaling. Her first book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? will leave you with no doubt you wish you had Mindy as an older sister. The things she writes sometimes seem outrageous at first until you realize, “Wait that is so me!” Her honesty is what makes this book an absolute riot, causing you to laugh aloud, getting odd glances from fellow pool goers. In the end it’s worth it… Seriously, wait ’till you get to the last pages, it left our stomachs aching from laughter!
4. It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
This gripping novel is the story of a teenage boy who brings himself to be admitted to the psychiatric ward because of his fear of attempting suicide. With a combination of Vizzini’s quirky characters and witty dialogue, It’s Kind of a Funny Story is a novel you’ll be stoked you checked out from the library.
5. Divergent by Veronica Roth
We know, we know. You’ve heard plenty about this story because of it’s film adaptation starring the fabulous Shailene Woodley. But just incase you haven’t gotten around to reading the novel, this is your official wake up call. Veronica Roth’s words leap off the page and into your mind creating scenes and moments film can’t always capture. 6. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Grab some tissues and your favorite cup of tea – this is a big one. Extremely heartbreaking yet rewarding, John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars follows the life of one Hazel Grace Lancaster who has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She leads an average life, watches reruns on Bravo, and is reluctant to go to group therapy. Enter Augustus Waters. Almost instantly hitting it off, the two find comfort and strength in one another. Did we mention you’re going to need to be fully rested before starting this novel? Because you will not be able to set it down. Fair warning: There will be many tears to accompany the many laughs, but trust us, the lesson embedded in Green’s words are well worth it.
