Week 6: I Finally Get Fed

I feel like Leap Day is not nearly as celebrated as it should be. This is a day that only comes every four years, which is relatively long stretch of time! Honestly, a lot can change in only four years! Look at me: Four years ago I was taking the ACTs, worrying about where I'd be in a dance formation, and hiding from food fights under lunchroom tables. Since then, I've moved to Austin, began university, and survived numerous food fights. What I'm trying to say is that I think Leap Day is a totally underrated day and I hope it gets the celebration it deserves next time around.

That being said, I’m not too proud of how I spent my one extra day of the year. I spent the day attending class, working on the heaps of Spanish homework I get every week, and generally dinking around. There was a high point though! Winnie and I gabbed about the best MaryKate and Ashley movies and just about died laughing at ways Americans and Australians say things differently. If you have the chance, read this list out loud one at a time with a foreign friend: scone, capillary, oregano, tortilla, fillet, cordial, & aluminum.

Thursday was my first time at Paper Island (or if you're looking on google maps, "Copenhagen Street Food"). I thought I was entering the golden gates of heaven, especially when I got my hands on the Korean BBQ. #FiveStarExperience

That night we went to a Friday bar, dancing to the tunes of the decades. It was a blast but once "Sorry" had it's second go, we dipped.

And soon the day came when mom and dad came to visit. Upon their arrival we took a stroll, grabbed drinks, and mom said "Oh my god, I love Copenhagen" about 7 times.

Saturday we toured the Carlsberg Brewery and hit up Paper Island for dinner. I know that I'm always their favorite child, but this day was clear that I was the best. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sunday and Monday were full of hanging out with my beautiful momma and catching up with my hip dad. I showed mom my dorm and she, like me, adores it.

It was very lowkey showing my parents around Cope but it was nice having them here. We spent the evenings planning for our next trip to London!

See ya next week, ya filthy animals.
