Study Abroad: London Calling
Week 7: UK and The Royals
Kate Middleton is one of my idols. I think George and Charlotte are great possible names for my future children. I'm working on bumping into prince Harry so he can fall in love with me. I'm that girl. So for my second trip to the great city of London, I was super jazzed.
After leisurely strolls and fab dinner, my mom and I went pub crawling starting with one of the best: Churchill Arms. There we grabbed a pint and met a new friend, Robin. He told us all about the history of the place and everything we needed to do in London. You're a good man, Robin. I hope the accounting business is still treating you right.
Thursday morning we hit up the National Portrait Gallery, a neat spot if you're a fangirl of the Tudors like Lynn. There was also the Vogue 100 exhibit going on which I was a fangirl of.
After a day of art and shopping, mum and I grabbed dinner and saw The Book Of Mormon. My official review: It was good.
Friday was the day of all days. Henry VIII's luxe vacation home: Hampton Court. They had these cloaks you could wear while touring the grounds so of course we got some. Mum got the most flashy one she could find.
Saturday we did some sight seeing and strolled through Notting Hill. Back in 2013 when we were in London last, my mom had bought an antique bowl from an Irish man in one of the little flea market booths. We tried finding him to reunite my mom with her old flame, but had no luck. We did however have a drink with a lovely Italian man named Hector who had retired to London. He tried teaching me some Italian but I butchered everything.
I flew back that evening to join my Øster-bros in a night of fun. Everyone who was anyone showed up to celebrate the birthday of our very own Marta 💕
We wrapped up the night at DuoPong where Sam became a living legend. I'm #blessed to be surrounded by such funny and wonderful people.
See ya next week, ya filthy animals.
