Study Abroad: Cheetah Girls Cheetah Sisters
Week 8: Dublin, Ireland
The weekend of all weekends. I'm talking about St. Patrick's Day in Dublin, Ireland.
Flying in Wednesday with Brooke, we were immediately hyped from the balloons and other festive decor at the airport. Our passport check guy was happy to see us, but not as happy as we were to see him. That night, we feasted on pizza and I met the infamous Christy and Maggie - Wisco queens, friends of Brooke.
March 17th, 2016 was a glorious day. I was reunited with Kacie, Hannu & Mary Jo and presented with some of the best memories. Bottoms up and try hard to keep it down! 🍀
Kacie's hat survived and so did we. Friday we got lunch at Arlington Bar & Restaurant then got dessert at The Sweetest Thing. There was a moment when we just had to laugh because only 2 years ago we were all strangers on the Koala bus (✊) and now we were exploring Ireland together. Life is weird.
We headed for the Guinness Storehouse and got plenty of samplings. Saying bye to Hannu, we got our second round.
We ended the night at Fitzsimmon's, befriending all the security guards and fangirling over the guitarist. I also met my soulmate that night. I want to say his name was Collin.. ?¿ 🙃
When Kacie missed her return flight Saturday morning, we slummed it in a Starbucks until we had the energy to go out. What we thought was St. Patrick's Cathedral was actually the Christ Church Cathedral but we figured it would do.
What ensued next was my soul euphorically exiting and re-entering my body when I tasted the best stew I've ever had. Quay's Guinness Stew is well worth the €15.
Our Paddywagon tour to the Cliffs of Moher was Sunday and we had plenty to talk about on the long bus ride out. Like I said, life is weird.
Kacie left early Monday morning so I strolled around Dublin until my flight that afternoon. It was the best weekend, getting quality time with people I love dearly.
See ya next week, ya filthy animals.
